I hope you’ll find something here that tickles your fancy. I love Europe and history and I’m always on the lookout for a good, quirky story to tell. I was based in Nice, France, for many years, and I write a lot about France. But when inspiration strikes, I also write about some of the other places I ramble.
Below is a brief summary of what is on this site and how to find it. Thank you for stopping by.
Who am I?
If you would like to find out more about me, you can click here:
I’ve written four books that are available in paperback and e-book:
- French Holidays & Traditions
- Curious Histories of Nice, France
- Curious Histories of Provence
- Berets, Baguettes, and Beyond
There are also two small (and free) e-books on my site. They are basically compilations of some of my blog posts that didn’t make it into my books. They are:
To have a look at my Books Page, you can click the “Books” tab in the menu or you can click here:
I also write regular articles on my blog. I like unusual stories, and I enjoy searching for them. I lived in France for many years and now I’m based in the UK, so it’s no surprise that these are the places I write about most. In the menu, you’ll find tabs for France and the UK, as well as a few other topics. To read my recent articles, go back to my Blog Home Page:
If you would like to follow The Curious Rambler – which means that you would receive an email when I publish a new article (usually every other week) – you will find the “Follow The Curious Rambler” button just above my photo. If your screen is large enough, this will be in the sidebar, but if you are on a smaller device, it will be at the bottom of the articles.
If you are looking for something in particular, there are search boxes located in the sidebar – or at the bottom if you are reading on a small screen.
If you would like to contact me, you can leave a comment at the end of any article, or there is a “Contact” button in the menu. You can also click here:
