Happy Thanksgiving to all of our American friends.
I hope everyone has a long list of things to be thankful for today. We are going to have a traditional American Thanksgiving dinner here in Florence tonight. We found a restaurant that serves turkey and dressing with all the trimmings. Jeff likes this but I’m not really a turkey fan, my favourite holiday treat is pumpkin pie. I can’t wait, I haven’t had any pumpkin pie in years – hope it is a good one.

Well I have officially finished my Italian courses and will be leaving next week. Looking back on it, I would say that I am pretty pleased with my progress. I can understand quite a bit when someone speaks to me. My speaking ability isn’t as good as my comprehension, but I think this is normal for me. If I were to do the courses over, I think I would go to the school for one month then take one month off to try to absorb the information then go back to school for another month. I would definitely do the private lessons again for conversation.
As for Florence, I still love it and feel quite at home here. I first fell in love with it 12 years ago, when I came here for a one month art history course. It packs so much culture and beauty into such a compact area. I think I will definitely have to come back.
